Police are searching for a suspect in an armed robbery that took place Monday night behind the building that once housed McGillacuddy’s and The Burg Bar and Grill. The victim told police that he and his step-brother had been doing construction in the building but hadn’t gotten paid in several weeks.

He says he was paid in $1,200 cash around 3:30 p.m. and walked the money to his car behind the building.

Police reports say a black male approached saying, “give me the money.”

The suspect then repeated the statement and pointed a “older rusted revolver” at the victim.

After the suspect took the money he got into a silver Mercury Grand Marquis and drove east bound on Main Street.

The victim was able to write down the car’s plate number, make and model.

Police were able to locate the car in the driveway of Allens Avenue residence but two men at the residence denied being at the scene.

GPD were expected to contact a nearby business, who they observed had two security cameras facing toward where the incident took place.
