The Galesburg High School Silver Streaks opened up the 2017 Volleyball season with a sweep of Canton 25-16, 25-21.
Galesburg’s Hannah Huppenbauer had 5 kills and 5 blocks. Yvonne Mixxon added 6 kills.
Macey Bland had four digs and Emily Meinert had served 3 aces for the Silver Streaks.

The Knoxville Blue Bullets came out fighting yesterday getting their second win of the year, and giving Monmouth-Roseville their first loss of the year with a 25-19, 26-24 sweep of the Titans.
Lead by Payton Florine and Courtney Moore, the Abingdon-Avon Tornadoes swept the South Fulton Rebels 25-23, 25-19.
North Fulton sweeps ROWVA 25-12, 25-22
Riverdale defeats Ridgewood 25-14, 25-18

Boys Golf:
Monmouth-Roseville defeated Knoxville 167-198 at Oak Run Golf Course. Nick Corman, Lane Frieden, and Aaron Blindt each had the best score of 41 for the Titans. Knoxville’s Nathan Erickson shot a 44 while Logan Thompson had a 45 and Jacob Betz shot a 54 for the Blue Bullets.
At Cambridge it was Ridgewood over Orion 171-189.
Girls Golf:
The Silver Streaks beat Moline 181-212 at Lake Bracken Country Club yesterday. Kirsten Osbon shot a 39 while Maitylin Sanders had a 43 and Rylee Chockley a 46.
