GHS Volleyball team swept by Geneseo

The Galesburg Silver Streaks fell to Geneseo in straight sets last night 27-25, 25-15. 

The Streak’s first set was close – with both teams exchanging small margin leads – before the Leafs got the edge.

The second set started out in the same fashion. The Silver Streaks did have a 9-6 lead before the Maple Leaf’s turned it around to take a 12-9 lead – then going on a 13-6 run to win the second set.

GHS was lead by Hannah Huppenbeuer who had 7 kills and Maddie Carlson’s 14 assists. The Streaks have dropped to 5-6 on the year.

 

AREA VOLLEYBALL
United swept Abingdon-Avon 25-16, 25-12

Ridgewood defeated ROWVA 25-10, 25-20

North Fulton beat Williamsfield 25-16, 13-25, 26-24

 

BOYS GOLF
Galesburg defeated Rock Island 174-183.

Owen Hawkins lead the Silver Streaks and earned medalist honors shooting a 37 while Justin Endthoff shot a 42 Luke Bradburn a 47, and Lucas Watson had a 48.

Knoxville swept the triangular with Stark County and Princeville.

The Blue Bullets had a team score of 227, while the Rebels shot a 240, and the Princes a 246.

Logan Thompson shot a 49 – earning medalist honors – while George Dredge had a 55, Tanner Maulden shot a 60 while Daniel Dredge shot a 63.

Mid-County swept a Triangular with Williamsfield and Roanoke-Benson. Mason Kaiser shot a 3-over-par 38 for the Cougars.

Monmouth-Roseville split a triangular with Macomb and West Central last night.

The Bombers took the sweep shooting a 165, the Titans had a 175 while West Central shot a 253.

Macomb’s John Michael Nixa got medalist honors shooting a 39, J.C. Sells led Monmouth-Roseville with a 41.

 

GIRLS TENNIS
The Silver Streaks fell to Rock Island 6-3.

GHS wins included Adyson Eastburg over Zoe Veasey 6-2, 6-3.

Reagan Mudd defeated Erica Depoorter 6-2, 4-6, 10-7.

Tiara Pendleton over Analyssa Hicks 6-4, 6-1.

 

BOYS SOCCER
Monmouth-Roseville shutout Beardstown 3-0 yesterday.

The Titans took an early lead thanks to goals from Grego Massengo and Kyaw Thang.

Erick Suarez had the final goal for Monmouth-Roseville in the second half.
