Here’s a re-cap of tonight’s game from WGIL’s Brad Bennewitz:
Things started off well enough for the Galesburg Silver Streaks football team tonight scoring on the opening drive of the game. A 10 play scoring drive that covered 60 yards as most of the damage on the ground done by Kobe Ramirez who finished the play off with a 1-yard touchdown run. That was the only time all night that the Silver Streaks had the lead as Alleman came back and scored on the next possession, a three play scoring drive capped off by a Sam Mattecheck quarterback run of 57 yards.
On the next possession, Alleman ran just two plays as Corneille Logo ran it in from 70-yards out as halfway through the 1st Quarter, Alleman was up 14-7. They ended up scoring two more times before the Silver Streaks broke the scoreboard and ended with the 28-14 loss.
Our Dave’s Auto-body Crunch-time Player of the Game tonight was DeAnt’e Pulley.
With the win tonight Alleman goes to 5-2 on the season, 3-1 in the conference, and the Streaks fall to 3-4 on the season and 1-3 in the conference.
Galesburg sophomores also fell to Alleman 22-8 as the Pioneers celebrated the sweep on their Homecoming.
Galesburg will return home next Friday night and will take on Rock Island in Senior Night ceremonies.
Elsewhere in the Quad Cities, Moline had a late comeback and knocked off Quincy for a 3-point victory as Moline is now alone in 1st place in the conference as defending champ Quincy drops to a second place tie with Alleman.
