GHS Volleyball team fell to Peoria Notre Dame

The Peoria Notre Dame Irish downed the Galesburg Silver Streaks in two sets Wedensday night: 16-25, 19-25 

Emily Meinert led the Silver Streaks with 4 Kills and 6 Digs, while Lauren Campbell contributed with three kills of her own.

Megan Lingafelter had nine assists.

The Silver Streaks fall to 12-9 and 5-2 in the Western Big Six Conference.

West Central swept ROWVA 25-16, 25-20

Lacey Bigger lead the Heat with nine points, three kills, and with four assists.

The Tigers were led by Kaprice Pearson who had two aces, and four assists along with Sarah Hennenfent who had two digs and four kills.

Lacie Geohl had four kills and two blocks herself.

Annawan beat Williamsfield in two sets: 25-17, 25-13
Havana over Bushnell-Prairie City: 25-20, 25-13
Mercer County defeated Ridgewood in three: 25-22, 20-25, 25-19
Illini Bluffs over North Fulton: 25-19, 25-11
Orion swept Fulton: 25-17, 25-17

 

BOYS SOCCER
At the Class 1A Regional in Alleman, Monmouth-Roseville shut out Kewanee 5-0.

Goals from Chum Ling, Grego Massengo in the first half gave the Titans a good leading.

In the second, Gilberto Vazquez added two more and Alan Ayala one of his own for the Titans to defeat the Boilermakers.

They will play Alleman for the Regional title on Saturday.

FOOTBALL
East Moline shut out the Galesburg 7th Grade Streaks 40-0 to close out the season for the junior high squad.

They finished in a three-way tie for the Heartland Football conference and were 6-1.

 

GIRLS BASKETBALL
The Churchill seventh and eighth graders both got wins over Wethersfield yesterday.

The seventh grade squad won 27-14 with Hannah Dillbeck racking up 11 points while Lilly Clark had seven.

The eighth grade girls won 31-12. Izzie Kersh and Abby Lingafelter both had eight points while Kadynce Lydic and Abbi Sammons had four.

 

COLLEGE MEN’S SOCCER
Cornell defeated Monmouth 2-0.

The Fighting Scots outshot the Rams 12-7 but the host team were the only ones who put the ball at the back of the net.

Monmouth will be back in action Saturday against Beloit.
