Wethersfield’s Volleyball team dominates United

In high school volleyball, Wethersfield continues to dominate the Lincoln Trail Conference. 

A d victory for the Lady Geese over the United Red Storm in two sets: 25-11, 25-15

This gives Wethersfield a 32-0 mark and puts them in the top spot for the LTC title with a 9-0 conference record with only one more match left against Annawan.

Wethersfield as led by Brittany Litton, who had 13 kills, two aces, and two blocks.

In a Lincoln Trail bout between Stark County and ROWVA , it was all Rebels – sweeping he Tigers in two sets: 25-23, 25-13

ROWVA’s Abby Stowe led with five kills and had two blocks while Kelsey Lindquist had three kills.

Jaylen Haynes had six digs and racked up nine assists while Kaylee Schuermann had four digs and five aces for the Tigers.

The Rebels were led by Maggie Rave who had five kills, and two aces while Delaney Johnson had 11 assists.

Kewanee came back to beat Prophetstown in three sets: 13-25, 25-17, 25-23
Annawan swept Ridgewood: 25-11, 25-20
Brimfield defeated North Fulton in two: 25-13, 25-18

 

BOYS SOCCER
The Monmouth-Roseville Titans are Class 1A Regional champs after beating Alleman 3-1.

The Titans got goals from Kyaw Thang, Chum Ling, and Gilberto Vazquez.

They’ll take part in the Mendota Sectional on Wednesday when they face the winner of the Hinkley-Big Rock Regional.

 

JR. HIGH GIRLS BASKETBALL
The Churchill girls played Canton yesteday.

The 7th graders lost 36-12, with Hannah Dillbeck leading the Blue Streaks with six points.

The 7th graders are now 10-5.

The 8th graders didn’t fair much better – falling to Canton 32-19.

Grace Nelson was the lead scorer for the 8th grade Blue Streaks with six points.

Churchill will play Lombard tomorrow.
