Galesburg’s Freshman Volleyball team dominates Burlington

The Galesburg Freshmen girls swept Burlington last night in two matches: 25-12, 25-10 & 25-15, 25-16.

Libby Campbell led the Streaks in the first match with five kills, and a block while Mollie Young had three kills and 12 service points.

Natalie Nelson had ten assists and two aces while Makayla Huff added three aces and three digs and Camryn Anderson had nine digs.

In the second match Andi Poyzer had two kills and two blocks while Libby Campbell had seven aces and seven service points and a block.

Lily Hudgins had ten digs and four service aces while Katelyn Engel had five digs.

Farmington swept A-Town last night: 25-14, 25-19.

The Tornadoes were led by Payton Florine who had seven kills, Charli Johnson had 12 digs and an ace, and Courtney Moore had 13 assists and two blocks.

Brimfield rolled Bushnell-Priaire City in two matching sets: 25-12, 25-12
Orion over Bureau Valley in two sets: 25-15, 25-15
Fulton swept Sherrard: 25-20, 25-15
Quincy defeated Alleman in two: 25-14, 25-17

 

JR. HIGH BASKETBALL
The Churchill Girls hosted Monmouth-Roseville yesterday and the Blue Streaks got the sweep.

The 7th Graders won 32-27. Parker Cash led with 11 points, Juniper Schwartzman had eight, and Hannah Dillbeck scored six points.

The 7th graders improve to 12-5.

Much of the same from the 8th graders – dominating Monmouth-Roseville 39-25.

Abbi Sammons led Churchill with ten points, while Abby Davidson had eight.

Kadynce Lydic and Abby Lingafelter both scored six points in the win.

The 8th graders now have a 13-4 record.

Churchill will host East Peoria on Monday.
