At the Peoria Notre Dame Regional both Galesburg’s Boys and Girls teams made the cuts – and advance to Sectional play.
The boys took fifth with a team score of 123 with the girls also taking fifth – combining for 118.
VOLLEYBALL
On Saturday the Silver Streaks fell to Moline on Saturday in two sets 15-25, 11-25.
The second match of the day was against United Township – resulting in the Silver Streaks getting a sweep 25-14, 25-18.
COLLEGE
FOOTBALL
The Prairie Fire football team dropped a hard-fought game to Illinois College on Saturday night 23-13.
Monmouth scored on all but three possessions in a 61-10 win at Cornell Saturday afternoon to stay atop the Midwest Conference South Division.
VOLLEYBALL
The Prairie Fire volleyball team dropped a conference matchup to Ripon on Saturday afternoon 22-25, 25-23, 25-15, 25-14.
The Scots jumped out to a quick 2-0 lead at Lake Forest, but couldn’t close out Set 3, eventually falling to the hosts 3-2 Saturday afternoon 22-25, 20-25, 28-25, 25-12, 15-10.
WOMEN’S SOCCER
The Knox Prairie Fire women’s soccer team takes a 2-0 win over the Cornell Rams, securing their spot in the Midwest Conference Tournament.
The Fire are now tied for first place (6-0-1) in the conference with St. Norbert College.

On Senior Day Monmouth gave their veterans the gift they had been searching for, a return to the four-team Midwest Conference Tournament.
The Scots punched their ticket with a 7-1 win over Lawrence Saturday at Peacock Memorial Athletic Park.
MEN’S SOCCER
Knox men’s soccer snatched a 2-0 win over the Cornell Rams on Saturday.
The Fire held the Rams scoreless and were able to lay in two goals of their own.
With a 7-0 conference record today’s win clinches a spot for the men in the Midwest Conference Tournament.
They are currently tied with St. Norbert College for first place.

Monmouth wrapped up their home season, sending their seniors off with a 2-1 win over Lawrence Saturday afternoon.
The Scots travel to Illinois Tech on Tuesday and complete their season Saturday at Grinnell.
