A regular board meeting for Knoxville District 202 is slated for Monday night at 6:00.

The board will review the new website, as well as review the school report card released earlier this month.

The Tentative Tax Levy will be covered in addition to various committee reports.

The board will hold discussion and take action on the Library Intergovernmental Agreement.

Last month, the District and the Library shared ideas on expanding and reinforcing the relationship between the two.

Superintendent Steve Wilder went over said ideas like, assisting with the library’s Summer Reading Program, giving the library access to activity passes, and the high school’s industrial arts classes assisting with maintenance at the library.

Board members will also discuss and take action on Post Concussion Return-to-Learn and Return-to-Play guidelines.

According to IHSA.org, a five-step progression includes returning to normal school activities, before all else, for student athletes who’ve suffered a concussion.

According to the Illinois Elementary School Association and the Children’s Hospital of Chicago, specific protocols for returning a student to learning
after a concussion is essential.

The lack of outward physical symptoms of illness may make it difficult for school officials to recognize the need for accommodations for a student with a
concussion

Knoxville’s SAT performance data in the report card shows the school is just below the state average.

In English language arts and mathematics, Knoxville is just below state average in students meeting or exceeding in those subjects.

Superintendent Steve Wilder says they’ve had a lot of ups and downs with testing at the state level – especially in regards to PARCC testing.

Another monthly display of recognition will be the One of a Kind award – given to a faculty member, community member, or Knoxville student who has gone above and beyond.

October One of a Kind winners include a group of Knoxville 7th graders who held a bake sale to buy a teacher a new chair.

The board will review the school report card released earlier this month.
