Galesburg Silver Streaks Girls Basketball vs Alleman Pioneers

In Western Big 6 Conference play Thursday, the Galesburg Silver Streaks girls were able to come away with a big victory to put them back above .500 winning over the Alleman Pioneers, 40-33. The GHS girls now advance to 5-4 on the season and 2-1 in conference play as Alleman falls to 3-6 and 0-3 in the Western Big 6. It was  back and forth through three quarters of play leading up to the home stretch when the streaks were able to sink a few free-throws to increase their lead. In a close game like this, not only a strong offense but a strong defense is what stood out for our Player of the Game. Our Dave’s Autobody Crunch-Time Player of the Game tonight was Emily Meinert who lead the Streaks with a double-double adding 13 points, 12 rebounds, 2 steals, and an assist to help Galesburg inch past Alleman. The Silver Streaks girls basketball team will now prepare for their tough match-up this coming Saturday verse Canton. Tom Meredith and Erik Gibson will bring you all the action beginning with pre-game at 1:10 p.m. on 93.7 FM & 1400 AM, WGIL.
