Galesburg Silver Streaks Boys Basketball vs Bettendorf Bulldogs

Game Recap by Brad Bennewitz:

“The Galesburg Boys basketball team finish off a double header weekend sweep with what turned out to be a relatively easy win at the Iowa-Illinois Shootout, 67-31 over a usually tough Bettendorf Bulldogs team that was playing without their leading scorer and team leader because of a wrist injury. It was back and forth early on in the first three minutes of the game which produced six different lead changes but the Galesburg went on a 10-0 run to open up an eight point lead that ballooned to eleven by the end of the first quarter at 21-10 and then grew to a nineteen point lead by the half. The Streaks eventually ended up winning by 36 points, 67-31 which is one of the biggest margins of victory in the history of what’s now known as the Genesis Shootout. Cornell Dotson finished with a game high and a career high 20 points as he was our Dave’s Autobody Crunch-Time Player of the Game. Khalil Hodge was also in double figures with 12 points as the Streaks knock down ten 3-pointers at Augustana College.  The Galesburg varsity is now off until the Taylorville Tournament Dec. 27th, where the Streaks will open with Rochester. Galesburg is now 8-2 after a big victory over Alleman Friday and the weekend sweep for the win over Bettendorf on Saturday.”
