Galesburg Silver Streaks Boys Basketball vs. Rantoul Eagles

ghssportsflipperbball-124

The Galesburg Boys Basketball team rebounded in a much better way — still a victory after a tough win over Rochester last night, but a very impressive victory in the first game of the day Thursday at the Taylorville Holiday Tournament over Rantoul 65-42.

The Streaks scored the first 12 points of the game, and led for the entire game for the second straight game.  It was the third quarter when the Streaks opened up an eight point halftime lead, into an 18 point lead by the end of the third quarter, and eventually got it up to 30 and a continuous clock in the fourth quarter, before winning it.

The Streaks had three players in double figures.  Khalil Hodge led the way with 18 points.  Cornell Dotson had 16, and Quinn Anderson finished with 13.

Our Dave’s Autobody Crunch Time Player of the Game was Eric Davidson.  The Senior came off the bench and had to play some key minutes in the post.

The Silver Streaks will take on Dunlap in the final game of the day for them in Taylorville Thursday at 5:30pm.  The broadcast will begin with pregame at 5:10pm, either on WGIL or 92.7 The Laser, depending on when the Galesburg Silver Streaks girls play later in the day Thursday.  Tune to WGIL for further details as they become available.
