Galesburg Silver Streaks Boys Basketball vs Minooka Indians

Here is a recap of this afternoon’s game from WGIL’s Brad Bennewitz:

“In a back and forth game, this afternoon, at John Thiel Gymnasium, where the Silver Streaks lead by no more than 1 point throughout the first half and by only 2 in the 3rd quarter. Galesburg put together a 19-12 4th quarter in getting past Minooka 48-42 to snap a 3-game losing streak. Khalil Hodge was the leading scorer off the bench for the Silver Streaks with 14 points, 7 of those coming in that key 4th quarter when the Silver Streaks shot 8/11 from the field and knocked down 2/3 of their 3-pointers.

Cornell Dotson was our Dave’s Autobody Crunch Time Player of the Game finishing with 8 points and 6 rebounds. 3 of those rebounds coming in that key 4th quarter and a couple of them offensive rebounds. Dotson also hit a big 3-pointer himself.

“Minooka drops to 10-9, their 4th straight loss. Adrian Gutierriez was the Indians leading scorer with 13. Galesburg will now take on Maine South in game 3 of the Martin Luther King Tournament. We’ll have the broadcast at 7:45 pre-game, 8 o’clock tip off tonight against the Hawks who are 14-3 on the season.”
