“Galesburg Silver Streak girls drop to 11-12 on the seasons and 2-4 in Western Big 6 Conference as they fell to the United Township Panthers 38-24. The Streaks had two quarters with only 2 points; they were down 7-2 at the end of the first quarter, got out scored 11-2 in the third, and played even the other two quarters. The Streaks had a tough time handling and shooting the ball against this UT team resulting in none of the GHS players in double figures. Emily Meinert had 6 points and 10 rebounds, Yvonne Mixon had 6 points and 8 rebounds, and Andrea Sampson finishing with 2 points and 7 rebounds. Our Dave’s Autobody Crunch-Time Player of the Game was Riley Jenkins who totaled 7 points, all coming in the second quarter, which really sparked the Silver Streaks back into the game. The Streaks ended this match-up with 27 turnovers to go along with there 24 points, they shot just 10/35 from the field including just 2/16 from the 3-point arc. Again the Streaks took a hard loss to UT, 38-24 the final.”
