“The Galesburg Silver Streaks move back above the .500 mark with a 14-13 record after a 60-47 win over the Stillman Valley Cardinals at the Galesburg Shootout. The Streaks had three players in double figures with Yvonne Mixon leading the way with 16 points, 10 rebounds, 3 assists, and 2 steals as well as Yvonne was our Dave’s Autobody Crunch-Time Player of the Game. Andrea Sampson got the Streaks going early on from behind the arc with 13 points for the game including 3 3-pointers in the first quarter and 11 points added by Megan Lingafelter. The Streaks still had some trouble holding on to the ball turning it over 19 time but still a decent showing compared to Stillman Valley’s 25. The Streaks win it out rebounding the Cardinals 39-29 and with a final score of 60-47. Monday night the Silver Streaks will play host to the Rock Island Rocks with a 6:30 pm tip-off at John Thiel Gym.”
