“The Galesburg Silver Streaks end the regular season on a high note as they defeat the Quincy Blue Devils 50-37. They finish the regular season 15-15 and finish in 4th place in the Western Big 6 Conference with a 4-6 record. It was a very low scoring game in the first half as the Streaks lead 8-2 at the end of the first quarter, outscored 13-12 in the second quarter, but lead 20-15 to end the first half. The Streaks went on to outscore Quincy in both quarters of the second half and went on to the victory forcing several turnovers with some great full court presser. Our Dave’s Autobody Crunch-Time Player of the Game was Yvonne Mixon who lead the way with 14 points, 14 rebounds, 3 steals, 3 blocks, and an assist. Yvonne was one of the six seniors on the Streaks team as they celebrated senior night along side fellow seniors Lauryn Campbell, Megan Lingafelter, Rylee Chockley, Anna Gugliotta, and Emily Meinert. The Streaks shot 21/43 from the field so a good shooting night for Galesburg as they finish at .500 for the regular season at 15-15 and head on in to post season play.”
