Lombard Middle School is seeking the public’s help through social media after an SUV drove through the school’s soccer field. The school’s official Facebook page, We Are Lombard, on Wednesday shared pictures of a dark colored SUV driving across the field along with one close up showing the muddy ruts on the field.

Lombard Principal Nick Sutton said the joy ride took place after dismissal but while students were still on campus.

A faculty member snapped the pictures on their phone.

School officials have been in contact with police and say they will be addressing this to the “fullest extent possible.”

Sutton said the school regularly uses the field for P.E. classes and track.

Several comments on Lombard’s posted pictures mentioned ruts appearing in recent times in city parks apparently from a car driving through.

Galesburg Parks and Rec Director Tony Oligney-Estill recalled this happening last spring at the Lake Storey soccer fields causing Carl Sandburg College’s team to not be able to use them for practice.
