Bond was set for a Galesburg man arrested this weekend on drug and traffic charges Monday.

47-year-old James M. Kilgore made a video appearance in Knox County Circuit Court with Judge Raymond Cavanaugh, who set bond at $50,000 and appointed a public defender to represent him.

Kilgore has 3 charges against him, the most severe are a Class 3 Felony of possession of under five grams of methamphetamine, and a Class 4 Felony of driving on a suspended license.

According to police reports, Kilgore was allegedly observed behind the wheel of a truck when a traffic stop was conducted on North Henderson Street Saturday night.

Reports indicate he exited the vehicle from the drivers side, insisted that he was not driving and was arrested on the grounds he had a suspended license.

A search of him allegedly yielded a pipe with white residue found inside, and a search of the vehicle found a spherical crystal rock, that would field test positive for meth.

Another bail hearing was scheduled for March 16th, and a preliminary hearing has been scheduled for March 20th
