Catherine Jean Schisler, 94, of Monmouth, IL died at 6:33 a.m. Sunday, March 18, 2018 at Legacy Estates in Monmouth, IL.
She was born May 10, 1923 in Fairview, IL the daughter of Ira and Viola (Cook) Sulteen. She was raised and educated in Monmouth, attending Monmouth High School.
Catherine married Solomon L. Schisler, Sr. in Kahoka, MO in 1943 and he passed away May 10, 2016.
Catherine worked several years at Western Stoneware in Monmouth and later retired from Wilson Foods in Monmouth after 20 years.
Her main interests were her family and doing for others along and hosting her Sunday dinners.
Survivors include her children, Jerry (Lois) Schisler of Roseville, Vickie (George) Raymond of Monmouth , Jeff (Lori) Schisler of Monmouth and Joe (Lois) Lathrop of DeKalb, IL; 11 grandchildren, Mary Katherine Schisler, Jerry Lee (Jenny) Schisler, Jr, David Reed (Jacqueline) Schisler, Jayelyn (Bindy) Raymond, Jeremy (Gina) Raymond, Justin (Jamie) Raymond, Crystal (Scott) Johnson, Kristopher (Shelby) Schisler, Autum Schisler, Joe (Diane) Lathrop and Bill (Linda) Lathrop; 16 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandson; her sister, Betty Creamer of Monmouth; her brother, Jack (Dixie) Sulteen of London Mills, IL; numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband; 2 sons, Kenneth Leroy Schisler and Solomon Lewis Schisler Jr; 2 brothers and 2 sisters.
Graveside services will be 11:00 am, Wednesday, March 21, 2018 at Warren County Memorial Park Cemetery, Monmouth. No visitation is planned. Memorials may be given to the Jamison Center, Monmouth.
