Shots reported fired Saturday night at Railroad Days carnival

A pair of incidents during Galesburg Railroad Days leads to firearm present calls Thursday evening and shots fired calls Saturday evening.

According to several sources, including eyewitnesses who contacted WGIL News, the Galesburg Railroad Days carnival ended Saturday night in a panic fashion. Several witnesses during the Saturday night carnival heard 2-3 shots fired sending carnival-attendees running for cover. There have been no reports of any victims from the gunfire at this time.

No official statement has been issued at this time by the Galesburg Police Department. Galesburg Police tell WGIL an official statement will be released Monday, June 25th.

Police do say that the incident Thursday involved a gun being displayed during a fight, but not shots were fired. A juvenile is believed to be in police custody.
