Another 16-gauge shotgun was reported stolen in Galesburg this week.

A burglary complaint was received on Wednesday at the Public Safety Building by a man who believed the crime occurred sometime between 8:30 Sunday night to Monday evening around 5:00 .

According to reports, officers were told that the shotgun, which was believed to be a Remington, was taken out of a stand-alone zippered wardrobe holder that was in the victim’s garage.

The gun was given to the man from his father in 1998. It had never been shot and he told police he only got it out once to try and sell it.

Reports indicate that forced entry was not a factor, and the victim told police a spare key had gone missing. He was not sure if the garage was locked prior to the theft.

Also taken from the garage was a Suntech Tachometer, and Dick Blick acrylic paints. The estimated value of all stolen items was in the range of $325 .
