Here is a recap of the game from WGIL’s Brad Bennewitz:
The Galesburg High school football team couldn’t do much to stop Rochelle defensively in the first half as the Hubs built a 30 to 0 lead, en-route to a 36 to 8 victory over the Sliver Streaks on Friday night. That dropped Galesburg to 0 – 3 on the season. Galesburg did play the second half with much more energy, much more determination and that is an area were the Silver Streaks will look to build on as they head into the Western Big 6 Conference opener next week at Rock Island.
Kobe Ramirez led the streaks offensively with 101 yards rushing, Connor Aten scored the Streaks only touchdown and the two point conversion after Rochelle fumbled a punt in the third quarter that gave the Streaks the ball at the 9 yard line. The silver streak sophomores also lost on Friday 51 to 14. Both teams head to Rock Island next Friday night to open the Western Big Six conference.
