Imprisoned tow truck driver charged with sex trafficking

CHICAGO (AP) – An imprisoned former city of Chicago tow truck driver has been charged with forcing eight underage girls into prostitution.

Lennie Perry is serving a nine-year term in an Illinois prison after being found guilty last year for using his city-owned truck to extort money from motorists.

The 44-year-old was indicted last week in federal court on charges of sex trafficking eight teenage girls, some of them between the years 2012 and 2014, others in 2016 and 2017.

Prosecutors say all were younger than 18, and one was younger than 14 at the time Perry recruited them into prostitution.

Federal prosecutors on Friday filed a writ of habeas corpus to have Perry brought from state prison to appear in court Nov. 7. It isn’t known if Perry has legal representation.
