Five people are facing felony charges after another man was severely beaten in broad daylight outside a local gas station.

Galesburg Police reports indicate officers were called to the Circle K on East Main around 3:30 Wednesday afternoon. Eyewitnesses told police a 41-year-old man was pulled from a vehicle and was repeatedly punched and kicked, leaving behind a pool of blood. Authorities say they do not yet know of a motive.

Police found the vehicle the five were in and arrested them on felony counts of mob action and aggravated battery. They were: 22-year-old Riley Corbin, 18-year-old Sonjay Mabry, 26-year-old Calvin Spinks, 25-year-old Ryan Lovitt, and a 17-year-old juvenile who was not identified.

Spinks is being held in the Knox County Jail on 15-thousand dollars bond. Corbin, Mabry, and Lovitt are jailed on 25-thousand dollars bond. The 17-year-old is believed to be in the Knox County Mary Davis Home. The adults are expected back in court, records say, December fourth.
