A service that was once held for several years at Central Congregational Church around this time has returned once again for it’s 2nd year. The 2nd Annual Community Interfaith Thanksgiving Celebration event is Sunday, November 18th. The Galesburg Heart and Soul/On Track Project in cooperation with a variety of religious and cultural traditions is hosting the event. Steve Cheesman with Heart & Soul says the service is intended for anyone – regardless of religions affiliation, age, or culture. “This is perfect for this,” Cheesman said. “Because we all have many, many, many more things that are in common than we do that are not common. I think that as we work together, we see that and grow a respect for one another – an admiration for one another and this is just one of those things that I think helps in that.” The service begins November 18th at 4:00 pm at Central Congregational Church in Galesburg and is open to the public. There will be a time for sharing Thanksgiving experiences. A free will offering to benefit the FISH Food Pantry will also be collected.
