Galesburg Silver Streaks Boys Basketball @ Rock Island Rocks

Here is a recap of the game from WGIL’s Brad Bennewitz:

The Rock Island Rocks put four players in double figures handing the Galesburg boys basketball team its first loss of the season 60-48 to open the Western Big 6 Conference. The Rocks were led by Bradley University bound Jamir Price with 16 points but overall it was a pretty quiet game for him. Jordan Rice was a real spark plug off the bench for the Rocks, just a sophomore, finishing with 11 points and guiding the Rocks offense in the second half when Price got into foul trouble. The Streaks had a big rally in the third quarter. They were down 8 at the half and came all the way back to take a 4 point lead at one point in the third quarter, but Rock Island held off to hit a 3-pointer at the buzzer to end the third, giving the Rocks a 2 point lead to start the fourth and just increased the distance from there, winning by twelve. Eric Price was our Dave’s Autobody Crunch-Time Player of the Game for helping spark that Streaks rally in the third quarter and he also led the Streaks in scoring with 16 points on the night. Keith Cunngham came away with 15 points and 7 rebounds while Jaylin McCants finished with 12 points and 9 rebounds. Galesburg drops to 4-1 on the season and 0-1 in the Western Big 6 Conference as they won’t play the rest of this weekend. The Streaks next match-up is at home next Friday against United Township.
