The Galesburg Silver Streaks lost in the 3rd place game to come home with the 4th place trophy from the Mattoon Holiday Tournament as they fell to Olney 54-43. The Streaks got down early in this one as the just really had trouble getting a shot to fall. They were down 16-8 midway though the first but able to make a come back going on an 8-0 run and the game was tied at 16 at the end of the first quarter. From there the Streaks got out scored 13-9, 13-8, and 12-10 the rest of the way and just really couldn’t over come the deficit having to come out with a full court press through the 3rd and 4th quarters on tired legs and this being the fifth game in just three days. Our Dave’s Autobody Crunch-Time Player of the Game was Andrea Sampson who finished with 9 point on 3 3-pointers and a key element in that first quarter comeback. The Streaks now fall to 11-7 on the year with their next action coming up Thursday night back in the Western Big 6 Conference as they play host to the Quincy Blue Devils.
