The Galesburg Silver Streaks win the inaugural Silver Streak invitational as they defeat the Dunlap Eagles 53-37. Streaks shot the ball extremely well once again, ending up with 19/35 from the field, 8/14 from beyond the arc and 7/14 from the free throw line. Andrea Sampson led the way in scoring with 16 points in the game while Riley Jenkins finished with 15 points, 2 rebounds, 3 assists, and a blocked shot. Our Dave’s Autobody Crunch-Time Player of the Game was Chloe McCarthy who hit 3 3-pointers as well as a couple of field goals and finished the night with 13 points, 8 rebounds, 3 assists, a steal and a blocked shot. The Silver Streaks now advance to 14-7 on the season while Dunlap falls to 11-5. Next action for the Silver Streak girls comes up next Thursday night back in the Western Big 6 as they take on the Rock Island Rocks. But for now the Streaks are on top with a final score of 53-37.
