A Geneseo man had his bond set at $10,000 after he was arrested in Galesburg Monday afternoon.

37-year-old Titus L. Banta made a video appearance with Judge Paul L. Mangieri yesterday afternoon where bond was set at $10,000 and the public defender’s office was appointed to his case.

Banta is charged with felony counts of Possession of a Stolen Vehicle and Theft. Both charges are Class 2 Felonies.

According to a police report, officers were dispatched to Pet Supply’s Plus on Veteran’s Drive to locate a 2019 Ford Fiesta reported stolen out of Davenport.

Banta was allegedly behind the wheel, and told officers he was out test driving the car, but in making contact with the Quad City dealership that reported it stolen, they said it was not out for a test drive.

Banta will be back in court on February 11th for a preliminary hearing.
