Two men are facing meth delivery charges after their arrest Thursday night.

24-year-old Jamar Whiteside-Banks and 22-year-old Trevor Pierce made video appearances in Knox County Circuit Court on Friday afternoon where bond was set at $7,500, with 10-percent needed to get out of jail.

Both men face charges of possession of methamphetamine between 5-15 grams with intent to deliver as well as the possession charge without the intent.

The delivery charge is a Class 1 felony. If convicted, the maximum sentence would be 15 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections.

Pierce was also charged with a lesser felony of meth possession under 5 grams.

According to a Galesburg Police report, officers were made aware that Pierce, who had outstanding warrants in Warren County, was in the parking lot of Walmart late Thursday night.

A traffic stop was conducted and, after identifying Pierce, he was arrested. He was searched and a hypodermic needle along with a paper package containing a substance that later field tested positive for meth were located.

That find led to a search of the vehicle, where a package of the same substance found on Pierce was located as well as a black digital scale with a white powder substance consistent with the substance in the packaging.

Public defenders were appointed for both men and preliminary hearings were scheduled for March 12th.
