Mr. Robert D. Duckwiler, 78, of Galesburg passed away peacefully surrounded by family at 3:30 p.m. Sunday February 24, 2019 in Aperion Care.Robert was born December 18, 1940 in Greenbush Township the son of A.L. and Gladys (Bailey) Duckwiler. He married Beverly J. Hall on May 23, 1964 in Galesburg.
Bob is survived by his wife of 54 years, Beverly; his two daughters, Shaela Duckwiler of Galesburg and Dr. Kristen “Colleen” (Tony) Iniguez of Marshfield, Wisconsin and three grandsons, Morgan Duckwiler and Noah and Zachary Iniguez. He is preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Chuck and Bud Duckwiler.
Bob worked for the City of Galesburg for over 30 years. He began mowing for the cemetery and ended his career in the Street Department. Bob graduated from Galesburg High School in 1958 and had attended Carl Sandburg College. He was very patriotic and a lifetime member of the NRA. Bob served as former president of the local AFCME union. He enjoyed watching sports, especially the Chicago Cubs and Chicago Bears.
Funeral Services are scheduled for 11:00 am Thursday, February 28, 2019 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Services Galesburg Chapel. Visitation will be from 10:00-11:00 am Thursday at the chapel. Rev. Dennis McQuown will officiate services. Burial will be in East Linwood Cemetery.
