Mrs. Ruby Pearl Stigner, 90, of Galesburg, Illinois passed away at 9:39 am Friday, March 8, 2019 at Knox County Nursing Home, Knoxville, Illinois.Ruby was born September 1, 1928 in Akin, Illinois the daughter of Orph and Edna Brodrick Howard. She married Donald E. Stigner on September 14, 1946 in Galesburg. After 48 years of marriage, Donald preceded her in death on June 21, 1994. Ruby is survived by her children, Larry E. (Yolanda) Stigner of Galesburg, Rebecca L. (Bill) Van Fleet of East Moline and Marsha A. (Gary) Henry of Galesburg; her brother, William (Susan) Howard of Lake Bracken; nine grandchildren; Ryan (Melinda) VanFleet, Aaron (Jen) VanFleet, Heather (Chris) Powell, Chris (Emily) Henry, Dustin (Keisa) Henry, Clay (Shawna) Henry, Amanda, Greg, and Rich Stigner; and 11 great grandchildren. She is also preceded in death by one great grandson, Jason Maulden. Ruby made her living as a homemaker, caring for her husband and children. She was raised in Franklin County until she was 7 years old and then lived in Abingdon and graduated from Abingdon High School in 1946. She married Donald and moved to Galesburg. Ruby was a member of the former Ladies Auxiliary of the Moose Lodge and a former member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post 285.

Graveside services are scheduled for 11:00 am Tuesday, March 12, 2019 at Abingdon Cemetery with Rev. James Ecklund officiating. Memorials may be made to Trulson House. Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Services Galesburg Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
