Evelyn M. Huber, 95, of Bloomington, Illinois, formerly of Galesburg, Williamsfield, and Dahinda, died March 11, 2019.She was born May 5, 1923 in Dahinda, Illinois to Glenn W. and Grace F. Blust. Evelyn graduated from Knoxville High School and became a licensed Cosmetologist. She married S/Sgt Charles L Huber of Williamsfield on July 17, 1945. Her husband, parents, and her two brothers, Lloyd and Don, preceded her in death.

Evelyn is survived by her children, Gary (Linda) Huber of Bloomington, and Carolyn (Stephen) Brown of Mahomet; She is also survived by three grandchildren, Valerie (Matthew) Jones, Lynne Huber, and Catherine (Andrew) Petersen; and five great-grandchildren, Michael Huber, Jenni Huber, Zachary Jones, Margaret Petersen, and Frances Petersen.

Evelyn was a member of the Church of Christ of Galesburg and later the Church of Christ of Bloomington. She was a beauty operator at several shops in Knoxville and Galesburg prior to opening her licensed beauty shop in her home in Williamsfield. Evelyn and Charles made their first home in Williamsfield, then moved to Dahinda, and returned to Williamsfield in 1957 to build the first home in the new Lions’ addition. After they both retired Evelyn and Charles moved to Galesburg. Evelyn moved to Bloomington after Charles’ death.

The family of Evelyn M. Huber would like to thank the Mary B’s Memory Care Unit of Bickford House in Bloomington for their twenty-four-hour care and support of Evelyn the past few years.

Visitation will be 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Friday, March 15, 2019 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Services Galesburg Chapel.
