41-year-old Jeffrey Mason of Monmouth entered a not guilty plea Tuesday to felony residential burglary, one of two separate felony cases he’s facing in Warren County.Mason is alleged to have broken into a family residence, in the middle of the night, on April 7.

Police note they had already two previous calls about Mason that night, removed him from a property, and noted he “acted like he was on drugs.”

A 17-year-old was woken on April 7, hearing something fall and walked out of his bedroom to see a strange man standing in the hallway holding a volleyball.

It was Mason, who asked the boy for a woman by name.

The 17-year-old woke up his father, who gathered that Mason was looking for the apartment building next door.

Mason identified himself, apologized, and left the house.

One week later, officers were called to a residence, where Mason was evicted and had left the property with severe damage.

Reports note damaged drywall, soiled carpet and a broken window on the backdoor.

He’s being charged with criminal damage to property, for which bond was set at $9,000.

Mason might become a regular at the Warren County Courthouse in the coming weeks, as he’s set for appearances on May 7 and 15.
