Mark R. Artcher, the 60-year-old Aledo teacher charged with predatory criminal sexual assault of a child, filed a motion for a new judge to oversee his case on Monday.

Artcher’s attorney, Katherine Drummond out of Rock Island, filed the motion to substitute Judge Richard Zimmer. No hearing date has been set to hear the judge substitution motion.

Artcher is charged with a pair of Class 2 felonies of predatory criminal sexual abuse, and one Class X count of predatory sexual assault.

The sexual abuse charges allege an “act of sexual conduct” with someone under the age of 13, and the sexual assault charges alleged some form of sexual penetration with a victim under 13.

A pretrial conference is scheduled for Artcher on June 13, 9 a.m. at the Mercer County Courthouse.
