Driver killed in Henry County fatal crash identified as Little York woman

Illinois State Police are identifying the driver of an SUV that was killed when her vehicle collided with a cement truck has been identified as 48-year-old Gretchen Decker of Little York.

Decker was driving a Chevy SUV west on Illinois Route 81, near Cambridge, and for reasons that police aren’t aware of, she collided head-on with a Sterling straight truck traveling in the opposite direction.

The driver of the cement truck, 36-year-old James Houlihan of Sheffield, IL was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Decker’s obituary from Turnbull Funeral Home reads that she served in the Air Force for four years.

Services are planned for 1:30 Wednesday at Turnbull Funeral Home in Oquawka, with visitation 5 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday.

Military honors will be performed before Decker’s internment.
