Frank Bainbridge, 74, of Galva, died at 6:57 p.m., Monday, June 17, 2019, at Seminary Manor in Galesburg.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, June 21 at Rux Funeral Home in Galva where military rites will be accorded by the Galva Fusiliers. Pastor Don Reul will officiate. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the services at the funeral home. Cremation will be accorded following the services. Memorials may be directed to the Frank Bainbridge Memorial Fund.
He was born March 8, 1945, in Galesburg, the son of James L. and Della M. (Howard) Bainbridge. He married Sharon J, Jennings on November 28, 1965, in Galva. Survivors include his wife of Galva, his mother, of Galva, a son, Chris Bainbridge of Galva, two daughters, Kelli (Scott) Kursock of Kewanee and Mindi Collins (James Swanson) of Galva, three brothers; Tom Bainbridge of Bonnie Lake, WA, John (Elizabeth) Bainbridge of Marquette Heights, IL and Mike Bainbridge of Galva, his sister, Patricia “Pat” (Jack) Gregory of Galva, seven grandchildren; Jordan Kay (Zach) Sall, Jessica (Cody) Kursock, Alex and Hannah Bainbridge, Brayden Collins, Jacey Kursock and Harper Swanson and a great-grandson, Walker Biddle. He was preceded in death by his father and a brother, Jerry.
Frank graduated from Galesburg High School in 1963 and had taken classes at Bradley University for the Police Training Academy in Bloomington. He served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. He had worked as a policeman in Peoria, as a laborer at various factories and as a driver and funeral attendant for Rux Funeral Home. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Galva, the Galva American Legion and he enjoyed guns, fishing, hunting, and reading. Frank was a people person who never met a stranger and he just thoroughly enjoyed being around his family and friends.
