Those affected by the springtime flooding have until Friday to submit an individual damage assessment to the Knox County Emergency Management Agency.

The City of Galesburg announced the 4:00 p.m. deadline for July 5th in a release Tuesday morning.

Those with flood insurance need to contact their insurance company to report damages. Additionally, those with flood insurance should still report damages to insurance companies to ensure all potential assistance is being sought.

Pictures of the damage and a list of any destroyed or damaged possessions will be needed — as will receipts of costs incurred as a result of the flooding, such as hotels, cleanup, replacement, or repairs.

More information can be found here at the Illinois Emergency Management Website, KCEMA handout, KCEMA Frequently Asked Questions, or by calling (309) 345-3756.
