Marilyn F. (Jones) Kruse, 94, of Rozetta, IL, passed away at 9:59 pm, Monday, July 22, 2019 at Seminary Manor, Galesburg, IL. She was born October 22, 1924 in Monmouth, IL, the daughter of Russell Fielding and Edna Kezia (Duke) Jones.  Marilyn grew up on the family farm near Monmouth, returning to that farm after marriage.  She attended Monmouth High School.  Prior to her returning to the farm, Marilyn worked at Sunbeam in the Chicago area.  During this time, she met and married Wilbert “Bert” Kruse on January 17, 1953 in Maywood, IL; they were married for 47 years.  He preceded her in death on October 20, 2000. Marilyn farmed next to her husband until they retired from farming, turning the farm operation over to their sons.  She enjoyed sewing, gardening, and delivering meals to the field for her family.  Marilyn was a member of the Henderson County Home Extension and the First United Methodist Church in Monmouth.

Surviving Marilyn are her sons, Dale (Pam) Kruse, Ron (Marlene) Kruse, Jim Kruse, all of Monmouth, IL; her daughter, Nancy (Brad) Clark of Kirkwood, IL; grandchildren, Doug (Brittany) Kruse, Russell (Tawny) Kruse, Christopher Clark, Megan (Karl) Gullberg, Regina (Mark) Toland, David (Kendra) Peterson; great grandchildren, Alexandria, Tayten, Elijah, Kaitlyn, Machaella, and Zander.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bert, and her sister, Jean Norwood.  Her parents, brother, Ivan, sister, Elizabeth, and daughter, Judy, all of whom died in a private plane crash when Marilyn was 25.  Also preceding her in death is grandson, Matthew Kruse, and great-grandchildren, Lucas and Lillian.

Funeral Services will be at 2:30 p.m., Saturday, July 27, 2019 at McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory, Monmouth.  Interment will be in Monmouth Cemetery.  Visitation will be prior to the service from 1:00-2:30 p.m. at the funeral home.  Memorials can be made to the OSF Children’s Hospital of Illinois or First United Methodist Church of Monmouth.   For more information or to leave an online condolence please visit, www.mcguireanddaviesfuneralhome.com.
