Governor JB Pritzker’s office Monday announced that it is asking FEMA for an extension of the deadline with which to request a Federal Disaster Declaration. This is mainly because a number of counties in Illinois are still dealing with flooding, and an assessment can’t yet be complete. Knox County is one of the areas now playing a waiting game. Knox County Emergency Management Agency Director, Galesburg Fire Chief Tom Simkins, explains the situation to Will Stevenson on Galesburg’s Evening News.
