Mr. James C. “Jim” Dunsworth, 66, of Galesburg, Illinois died 8:25 p.m. Monday, August 19, 2019, at OSF St. Francis, Peoria, Illinois. He was born August 10, 1953, in Galesburg, Illinois to James Patrick and Wilbur Louise (Hadden) Dunsworth.  He married Mellany Hall in 1976.  He later married Crystal Kilgore on January 21, 1995, in Galesburg. Surviving is Crystal Dunsworth of Galesburg, two sons, Ryan (and Mary) Dunsworth of Lindenhurst, Illinois and Eric (and Kristine) Dunsworth of Englewood, Colorado, a daughter, Amber (and Tim) Platz of Chesapeake, Virginia, two stepsons, Brad (and Michele) Cosgrove of Loda, Illinois, and Jeff (and Tracy) Joseph of Panama City, Florida, a stepdaughter, Dawn (and Jon) Bowman of Knoxville, Illinois, two sisters, Nancy (and Jim) Roche of Elgin, Illinois and Janice (and Don) Nanneman of California, 16 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and his four dogs, Izzy, Ozzy, Lexi and Rizzo.  He is preceded in death by his parents. Jim was in the last graduating class of Costa Catholic High School in 1971.  He attended Western Illinois University.  He worked in the consumer lending department for 1st National Bank in Galesburg for 25 years.  He later was the Vice President of retail lending at F&M Bank in Galesburg for several years.  Jim was an educational minister for Teen Challenge in Peoria for several years until his retirement in 2014.  He was a member of the Lions Club and active in the Galesburg Youth Athletic Club.  He was an avid Chicago Bears and Chicago Cubs fan.  Jim enjoyed reading books listening to music, making people laugh, and spending time with his four-legged children.  He praised God and His Word and devoted his life to the service of Jesus Christ.

Cremation will be accorded.  A memorial service will be 3:00 p.m. Thursday, August 29, 2019 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Service Galesburg Chapel.  Visitation will be 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, August 29, 2019 at the chapel.  In lieu of flowers and gifts, donations may be made to Teen Challenge in Peoria and Western Illinois Animal Rescue.  Online condolences may be made at www.h-p-w.com.
