Williamson, John Aaron

John Aaron Williamson, surrounded by his children was called home to be with his Heavenly Father on September 9, 2019. He was born 07-10-1926 in Alpha, MN to Ira Jason and Bertha Ethel (Rule) Williamson. He married Gloria June Arndt on July 31. 1954, who preceded him in death after 54 years of marriage on September 16, 2008. They are survived by one son Terry John (and Sherry) Williamson and five daughters Peggy June Williamson, Tammy Joy Cress, Penny Jo Williamson, Tonny Jill Williamson, and Patty Jan (and Danny) Boone. He adored his eleven grandchildren and great-grandchildren. John farmed all his life and served in the National Guard and US Army as a Military Police Officer, Artillery Mechanic, and Expert Marksman during and after WWII. He worked at Butler Manufacturing Company for over 40 years, retiring in 1992. An avid sportsman of hunting, fishing, and trapping, he enjoyed and fostered many to learn the arts of his life’s passions. He authored the book – Adventures of an Eighty-eight Year Old Nature Boy. Above all, he served God and Country with devotion to family as his most valuable treasures.

His visitation services will be at the Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Services Abingdon Chapel on Friday, September 13th at 6 pm and Military Rites and funeral will begin at 7 pm.
