Friday, September 20th at approximately 9:45 pm, Monmouth Police officers responded to 1001 West 1st Avenue for reports of an individual that was expressing threats involving homemade explosive devices. Once on scene, officers made contact with 41-year old Brian E. Sage. Sage threatened officers with a road flare and additional flammable material according to a news release by Monmouth PD. Officers were able to subdue Sage and take him into custody. Sage is being held in the Warren County Jail on charges of Making Terrorist Threats, Possession of Methamphetamine, Aggravated Assault and Resisting Arrest.
