Join and help support the Discovery Depot Children’s Museum in Galesburg with an event on Thursday, October 10th that has grown over the past 4 years. The 4th Annual Boos and Brews is tonight at Iron Spike in Galesburg. It’s a fundraising night for Discovery Depot with guest bartenders, a beer and wine tasting, and a live auction all for a good cause. Discovery Depot does not receive any funding from the state or other entity so all money raised for the one-of-a-kind museum is through fundraising. The live auction will include Illini and Iowa tickets, Blackhawks tickets, a tailgating package, and Michael Kors items. Executive Director Denise Bradburn says tickets are $25 at the door. “We have tickets at Discovery Depot,” Bradburn said. “They’re also available at Iron Spike. We also have board members out and about in the community – give them a shout. They are cheaper to get them prior to the doors opening. Your ticket gets you into the event and then you get your samples of craft beer and wine. One hundred percent of the ticket sales goes right back to Discovery Depot. We also have a great bartender lineup. They’re working for tips for Discovery Depot as well.” Boos & Brews begins at 5:00pm. Bradburn encourages those attending to get there early – tables and seats fill up fast.
