No injuries were reported and no arrests have been made in a “shots fired” call from this weekend.

Galesburg Police officers responded to the 100-block of North Prairie Street Sunday afternoon at around 12:50 for multiple calls of gunfire.

Reports say that several residents in the area told police they had heard upwards of five shots being fired and saw several subjects fleeing from the area.

One witness at the scene told officers they’d seen a male subject in a black hooded sweatshirt run east between residences in the 200-block of East Water Street.

Another witness advised police that she saw three males that were crouched near the rear basement entrance of a residence. She said she asked them if they were okay and she advised that the subjects told her that someone shot at them from the intersection of East Water and North Prairie.

She also told officers that one subject advised that he had been “grazed” by a round.

A third witness advised that they heard a male on the phone say, “I’m gonna get him,” not long before the shots were fired.

Officers searched the scene but were unable to locate shell casings, blood, or damage to property.
