A man suffered lacerations to the left side of his head after being attacked by three individuals with a gun last night.

According to a Galesburg Police report, officers responded to Walgreens on West Fremont Street at just after 7:00 for what was believed to be a robbery.

There, a 25-year-old man told police that he was walking along the 900-block of Olive Street when three black men ran at him. One of them pulled a pistol from their waistband and allegedly struck him in the head with the gun.

He told police that he didn’t get a good look at the gun but described it as silver in color. After being hit, he said he felt dizzy but didn’t lose consciousness and one of the men yelled, quote, “get what he got.”

The man told police he didn’t know where they came from and nothing was taken from him.

He was transported to OSF St. Mary Medical Center by GHAS.
