A third teenager, part of a group of five who escaped from the Mary Davis Home on November 13, has been captured.
Over the Thanksgiving weekend, the 15-year-old boy was apprehended by the Rock Island County Sheriff’s Department.
The teen was one of five, including three other males and a female, who escaped from the juvenile detention facility after Galesburg, Knoxville, and Abingdon Police Departments responded for a riot.
Mary Davis Home staff were attempting to put juveniles back into cells when one struck a staff member. Several other staff members were battered by juveniles, leading to the five being able to make their escape, stealing a car from the detention center’s parking lot.
A 15-year-old boy was apprehended the night of the escape by Davenport Police. The 15-year-old girl was also found in Davenport by investigators on November 15.
Four members of the Mary Davis Home staff were treated for minor injuries before being released.
Two 15-year-old males remain at large.
