Galesburg Heritage Days

August 18, 2017 @ 4:00 pm - August 20, 2017 @ 4:00 pm

“Where American History Comes Alive”

Heritage Days promotes the educational, historical, and cultural aspects of our nation from the early days of the 1700’s to the 1900’s.  With 100’s of reenactors attending, it allows us to further educate and demonstrate history with hands on experience.  Travel through two difference time periods both a pre-1840’s Rendezvous and a Civil War Encampment within walking distance of each other.

On the Rendezvous side, a pre-1840’s encampment of living historians will show the lifestyle and commerce that was occurring during the time of the open plains and new frontiers in America.

The Civil War side is complete with soldiers, civilians, and tradespeople as they represent the way of life during the war between the states.

This festival is family oriented and centered around bringing history to life.  Bring  your family and walk through the encampments and ask the reenactors questions.  Step back in time before the mystical, magical city from the past vanishes again until next year.

Join the reenactors for breakfast 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m.  Saturday and Sunday in the Rendezvous Camp

Free and open to the public.
