Public Lecture About Joseph Barquet

Knox College’s Seymour Library and the Knox College Lincoln Studies Center present a free public lecture, “Joseph H. Barquet: Civil Rights Agitator, Warrior, and Citizen,” by historian Roger D. Bridges at 7 p.m., Monday, April 23, 2018 at Central Congregational Church on the Public Square in Galesburg. Bridges is Executive Director emeritus of the Rutherford B. Hayes Presidential Center in Fremont, Ohio and past president of the Abraham Lincoln Association. The lecture is sponsored in part by a grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities as part of the project “Struggle and Progress: Documenting African-American History in Galesburg, Illinois.”
