Sugar High Theatricals to present “Sounds of the 70s” Tribute to the Music of the 70s

Break out your platforms and polyester and join Sugar High Theatricals  as they take you on a musical journey through the decade that brought you head bands and “hot pants”.  The company, in association with Coffee Bean Theatre, returns to the 156 East banquet facilities to present “Sounds of the 70’s,” a musical tribute to the music of the 1970s, on February 19th, 20th, 25th, 26th, and 27th. The evening’s program features a host of music by legendary artists including the Carpenters, the BeeGees, Elton John, Janis Joplin and many more.

The cast is headed by local theatre veteran Gary Mustain, who serves as our “D.J.” as the cast flips through the stations of the diverse musical styles of music’s grooviest decade.  Local favorite Chris Curtis joins the Sugar High resident company in the high energy musical numbers, saluting all the great styles of music the 70s offer including folk, light rock, disco, Motown and more.  Sugar High company member Matt Newman is featured on numbers by the Jackson 5 and the Beatles while the ladies of the company take on Helen Reddy, Gladys Knight, Stevie Wonder and Fleetwood Mac.  Fred Heskett and Ryan Osborn bring humor to the evening with hilarious performances of the Village People, Three Dog Night and a surprise number to make you hold your sides with laughter.

Tickets for “Sounds of the 70s” are $30.00, which includes the show as well as a delicious buffet-style meal provided by the banquet staff of 156 East, which is located at 156 E Main St, Galesburg, IL, next to Azer’s Medical Supply.    Alcoholic beverages are available for an additional cost.  Doors will open for dinner service at 6:00pm with the show beginning at 7:30pm.   Tickets may be reserved by calling 309-532-7840 or by contacting Sugar High Theatricals at sugarhightheatricals@gmail.com.
